The core functionality of the extension is to manage, save, and inject text snippets. All data you create (such as text snippets, templates, or settings) is stored locally on your device or seamlessly through your browser’s built-in sync functionality (if enabled in your browser profile). We do not collect, read, or transmit your saved snippets or content to our own servers or any third-party databases.
B. Usage Analytics & Tracking
We do not use third-party analytics (like Google Analytics) within the extension. We do not track the web pages you visit, the links you click, or how frequently you use the extension.
2. Browser Permissions and Why We Need Them
To function properly, as per YWG Group Extension policy, the extension requires the following browser permissions:
- Storage (Local & Sync): To save your settings and generated snippets so they persist across browser sessions.
- Host Permissions (e.g.,
<all_urls>oractiveTab): To detect your cursor location and insert text fields directly into the websites you visit when you trigger a shortcut. The extension only interacts with the page layout temporarily to inject your snippets. It does not monitor or extract your web browsing activity.
4. Third-Party Links
While using the extension on various websites, you are subject to the privacy policies of the websites you visit. Our extension injects content into those web pages, but we have no control over how the host websites collect or process your inputs once injected.
5. Security
All of your data stays on your local machine as per YWG Group extensions Policy and your personal Google/browser profile. The security of this data relies heavily on the security of your device and your browser account.
6. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We, i.e., Your Windows Guide Extension policy, may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated “Last Updated” date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
