Microsoft: Do not Install creators update manually if you are a beginner

Windows 10 creators update got released on 5th of this month for those who wanted it early and the global rollout started on April 11th. As said here, It could take time to come to your device if you are doing it through windows update, as the Windows update engine takes many factors into consideration to get the update.

The Creators update is still unsupported on many systems for examples with the AMD processors, and Microsoft commits that they would issue a patch so that it works on the systems which are unsupported now. The users like these who have hardware blockage or similar issues wouldn’t be getting Creators update through Windows updates. However many enthusiasts like me who want these kind of updates immediately even if their system is not supported, might try manual methods as discussed here in the most popular article:

Update to Windows 10 creators update manually if you are unable to get it through Windows update

Upgrading via Media creation tool or the upgrade assistant might be successful(I did Install creators update on a 6 year old CPU with AMD processor) but the chances still can be said as 50-50. You might have other problems afterwards, which then you have to rollback to the previous version of Windows 10. This might not be necessary, but the software giant has still cautioned the users about the manual upgrading to creators update.
In a blog post, Microsoft described about rolling out Creators update in first phase. Windows update installs the feature upgrade only when there are no issues while installing via Media creation tool or the upgrade assistant bypasses some compatibility checks which might affect the upgrade. A snip from the blog:

“It’s important to note that when customers use the Software Download Site to manually install the Creators Update they bypass many of these blocks,”“Therefore, we continue to recommend (unless you’re an advanced user who is prepared to work through some issues) that you wait until the Windows 10 Creators Update is automatically offered to you. When your device becomes eligible for the Creators Update rollout, you’ll be prompted to make some important choices on your privacy settings before the Creators Update can install.”

The blockage of the update is coming from the feedback hub as well as people report in problems with the OS if any. The similar devices are then blocked from getting the feature upgrade till it is resolved.
Creators update is Installed by millions of PCs right now as Microsoft says and the share is expected to go more in next few weeks.
