You can pause Windows update with Windows 10 Creators update

Windows 10 build 14997 was recently leaked, revealing several new features. Among them is a change that many Windows users will appreciate about ability to Pause Windows update.
In Windows 10, updates are typically automatic. For users with default settings, especially those using the home version of the operating system, updates are downloaded automatically, and in some instances, the system restarts without warning. This can sometimes result in the loss of user data.
Over time, Microsoft recognized that this was a significant issue for users, leading to improvements in updates, such as those made in the November and Anniversary updates, which introduced features like Active Hours.
According to the latest leaked update, Microsoft has made additional changes: users can now pause Windows updates for up to 35 days. This feature allows users to delay updates, which is beneficial for those who prioritize stability with cumulative updates. However, security updates will still be downloaded during this pause.
The leaked build is the enterprise edition of Windows, and this feature is expected to be available for both businesses and home users. The Creator’s Update is scheduled for release in March, and this pause feature is anticipated to be included in that update.
